The City of Gatlinburg does an excellent job of keeping the roads open in winter, but in case of heavy snowfall, it may take a day or more to make the roads safe for travel. We recommend checking the weather and webcam at Ober Mountain Ski Resort to determine the weather conditions here. In case of inclement weather, 4 wheel drive and/or chains are advised. Winter Weather Warning: The elevation at Cabin Fever is nearly the same as the lodge at nearby Ober Mountain Ski Resort. This chalet only sleeps 4 people, due to fire codes we CAN NOT put more than 4 in unit, children under 3 may be allowed as they can share a bed with parents but limited to 2 children. "Cabin Fever" is a double A-Frame cabin that is located on a 1-acre lot in the San Juan Mountains one mile south of the Purgatory Ski Resort.
